Johnnie Walker Launches New Limited Edition High End $4500 Scotch Whiskey

Johnnie Walker has a new limited edition high-end scotch whiskey valued at $4500 a bottle. The launch of this new limited edition high-end scotch whiskey has sparked growing interest in its other lower-end products.

In the world of whiskey, Johnnie Walker is a brand that is up there at one of the very best. Restaurants around the world stock Johnnie Walker as one of its whiskeys and many have it on the rocks after a nice meal. In terms of taste and colour, Johnnie Walker’s whiskey is one of the best in the world.

The brand has been recently on a marketing campaign with advertisements at cinemas showing a man walking and talking about the history of the brand. The brand name is strong and it is shown by the number of people who have heard of it.

The limited edition is a tribute to founder of the brand. It is created from rare stock from nine of the Scottish distilleries. These Scottish distilleries have been operating for over 100 years and date back to the 1800s when John Walker was still around.

The brand was originally known as Walker’s Kilmamock Whiskey, when John Walker sold the whiskey in his grocer’s shop in Scotland. In 1908, the whiskey was renamed to its current name of Johnnie Walker Whiskey. The slogan “Born 1820 – Still going Strong!” was created in the same year. The iconic figure of the Striding Man was also created.

Till this very day, people all over the world are still drinking the brilliant whiskey. The brand is now currently owned by Diageo and produced in Scotland and sales figures are roughly 130 million bottles every year. Diageo is planning to cease production at the original plants in Kilmarnock by the end of 2011.

The limited edition whiskey is made with the help of wood oak casks that are over one hundred years old. These casks are said to have undertones of honey and spice. As Johnnie Walker’s premium product it is full of flavour and it will set people back a cool $4500.

There lies a problem though. People need to somehow find a way to purchase one of the 330 available bottles. In Australia, only ten bottles have been shipped over here and nine of them have already been sold. High class restaurants a lapping them up and probably going to charge well over 100 dollars a shot.

In conclusion, the new limited edition high-end Johnnie Walker will be great success. It will be hard finding a place where you can actually go and try it.
